According to
Airbiquity’s company website (2006), Airbiquity is an automotive telematics and
a foreword player in the automotive industry. Over the past 20 years, the
company has been developing and building car programs which give their
customers a platform called Choreo. Choreo is a cloud-based program which gives
the user customizability on what they wish to see and get from the car. It
allows customers to manage their car programs right at their fingertips while
on the go with their smartphones. Through the examples given below, there are
several key factors which sets Airbiquity apart from the competitors.
Choreo offers multiple
features which includes device connectivity, service management, driver access
and many more. For these reasons, Airbiquity suggest that this product will
benefit road users as many consumers in this generation have smartphones with
them all the time. Choreo is readily available in
more than 65 countries with 30 languages for the users to choose from, which
will provide reliable, scalable data for the user with the fully deployed and
functioning data centers.
In
comparison to this cloud-based software, there are a few who implement this
into their products as well. One example would be the ‘Zonar Z4’ from Zonar
systems. They use software to control and track the massive fleets of vehicles with
the use of GPS and satellites. The product allows the user to access and
optimize the driver’s performance. Another example which uses the cloud-based
system in their products would be from a company named Geotab. It is a
customizable software which allows for users to satisfy their requirements. It
offers up to 7 different languages and customization to better suit the user
experience with features such as driver behavior management which uses training
utilities and in-vehicle feedback to provide more accurate real-time data. This
are the few examples that are competing with Airbiquity’s software Choreo.
Due to
the customizability of the Choreo software and being readily available through
an application on the user’s smartphone proves it to be much more useful on the
go and with the wide variety of languages available, it will prove more
accepting to people of different countries as compared to Geotab. Choreo also
allows the user to view, monitor and locate their vehicles with the touch of a
button which can be shown in Figure 1, which may be a more detailed and systematic
option compared to Zonar Z4.
In
conclusion, the features and functions of the Choreo platform by Airbiquity offers
users a solution to help integrate their products using a cloud-based software
and offer user friendliness through a smartphone application which will make
the life of the user much easier.
